Old Horse Springs, NM
Old Horse Springs got its name from a troop of soldiers travelling from Socorro to Ft. Tularosa when they lost a horse and on their return trip, found the horse at a large spring.
Horse Springs is also known as "El Caballo" (the horse) to many. The elevation is 6,916 feet.
An arroyo runs through Old Horse Springs. Santa Anna Catholic Church and the Sanchez Mountains are in the background.
